Second Class Myths and Legends
30th Sep 2020
Second class have been busy learning about Oisín and Niamh in Tír na nÓg. In the story of Tír na nÓg we hear of a group of warriors called Na Fianna. Their job was to protect the High King of Ireland by roaming the green hills of Ireland and going into battle when necessary in order to protect the King and their land. Na Fianna carried swords and large shields. On these shields were Celtic Patterns.
The children in Mrs. Molloy's have designed their Celtic crosses for their shields.
