Friday Fun Day

5th Feb 2021

5th of February 2021

Hello everyone, it’s Friday fun day again! Well done on all your hard work during the week. Your teachers are so proud of you all! Here are some fun activities to try at home with your family.  Please send us some pictures on your SeeSaw app or send an email to kids@stphilipsjns.ie  We love hearing from you. There are pictures at the end of the page to give you some inspiration!

Have a lovely weekend!

Active

The Gardaí tried the Jerusalema dance Challenge this week. Enjoy the dance video and if you’re feeling energetic try to re-create it with your family!

You are all super heroes being so good at home! Please try some exercises from the Superhero action Training picture below.

We love a game of Simon Says at school why not try it at home but use fitness instructions to keep active…..like hop on your left foot 10 times.

Nature

Spring is here! It would be lovely if you could go on a nature walk and try to spot some signs of spring, like snowdrops appearing. You could collect some interesting flowers, stones, leaves, twigs, feathers etc on your walk. Use some of the items you collected to create a picture.

Saint Brigid

The 1st of February was St. Brigid’s day. St Brigid is a very special Saint in Ireland. Design your own St. Brigid’s cross using paper/cardboard/pipe cleaners/drinking straws.

Story

Sit back, relax and listen to the story of the Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle on the link below

Art

Draw and cut out your handprints to make a spring flower bouquet.

Draw and decorate a butterfly with items collected on your nature walk.

Family Activities

Work together to make the names of the people in your family using lego blocks.

Play a family game of ‘would you rather’ where you start fun conversations by asking questions that begin with ‘would you rather’ example….would you rather be invisible or have the ability to fly?
